Background information about 'Outstanding Power'

Lovebites are nothing short of a phenomenon. This all-female Japanese quintet — Asami on vocals, Miyako and Midori wielding twin guitars with staggering precision, Haruna behind the kit and Fami on bass — have stormed stages at Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, Download Festival and Bloodstock Open Air, picking up Metal Hammer Golden Gods recognition along the way. In March 2026, just weeks before this album's release, they played the legendary Budokan in Tokyo. A statement of intent if there ever was one.

"Outstanding Power" is their fifth studio album and their Napalm Records debut — released on the band's 10th anniversary, no less — and it arrives swinging hard. Opener "The Castaway" wastes zero time, a speed metal bullet that sets the tempo immediately. "Blazing Halo" showcases those AC/DC-esque dual guitars at their most infectious, while the midtempo "Dream Of King" proves the band can pace a tracklist with just as much authority as they can shred it. The thrash-flecked "Reaper's Lullaby" has genuine bite, the power ballad "Eternally" lands with real emotional weight, and closer "One Will Remain" sends you off on a high. Ten years in, Lovebites sound like a band just hitting their stride.
